1 The First Incident: Lost in the Canals

Sent by Lena Tan Wei Ling from Singapore.
On the first day, I decided to rent a gondola to explore the canals. I was very excited and thought it would be easy. But, of course, I was wrong. After setting off in the gondola, I quickly realized I had no idea how to paddle correctly. Within five minutes, I had collided with another boat, then a wall, and then another boat. Bystanders were looking at me and laughing, while I struggled to avoid further collisions. Eventually, the gondola owner came to my rescue and helped me return to the starting point, all while I felt both embarrassed and amused.
2 The Second Incident: The Hot Pizza

After my failed canal adventure, I decided to enjoy a famous Italian meal to ease the embarrassment. I walked into a local pizza restaurant and ordered a Napoli pizza. The smell was amazing, and when it arrived at my table, I couldn’t wait for it to cool down a bit. I took the first bite, and immediately yelled from the heat! I had no idea the cheese could be that hot. The waiter, sitting nearby, laughed and said, “The trick is not to eat quickly, but to enjoy the taste.” I laughed with him and savored the rest of the pizza slowly.
3 The Third Incident: The Smart Translator

One day, I decided to visit some city landmarks and went to the famous St. Mark’s Square. There, I met an American tourist who seemed lost. I tried to help him using my smartphone translator. We started conversing through the translator, but due to some technical errors, the translations came out hilariously wrong. For example, when I asked him where he wanted to go, the translator turned it into “Where do you want to jump?” We both laughed hard and ended up using hand signals. Eventually, we found the place he was looking for, but those funny moments stayed in my memory as one of the best parts of my trip.
By the end of my trip to Venice, I realized that traveling is not just about seeing tourist attractions and discovering new places, but also about the funny and unexpected moments. Those moments that might seem embarrassing at the time turn into wonderful memories that we laugh about whenever we recall them. My trip to Venice was full of laughter and adventures, and I look forward to new adventures in other parts of the world.
